Belfast Silica Mine (Pty) Ltd , Level 5 BBBEE certified, owns and operates an opencast silica mine on the outskirts of Emakhazeni (Belfast) in Mpumalanga Province.
The mine produces:
- Silica, with a typical 97% SiO2 content, for the metallurgical industry -
- Aggregates for building and road construction mainly in Mpumalanga and Limpopo Provinces -
The mine has been in operation for more than 25 years supplying the aggregate market. Since the take-over by the current owners during 2006, the metallurgical market has been developed, resulting in long term supply agreements with various smelters.
The directors have extensive experience in Mining, Commercial- and Financial fields and together with a well experienced management team the company is geared to ensure that customers’ needs are met.
